Its inevitable that many festival goers are suffering with a major hole in their heart after the announcement that ‘T in the Park’ would not be happening this year, however, the city of Glasgow have stepped up and saved us from spending our weekend watching previous years of ‘T in the Park’ on You Tube and using an exceptional amount of Kleenex to soak up the tears. With 2 weeks to go until Scotland’s freshest treat on the festival calendar it is certain there’s a huge buzz for TRNSMT to bless the fields of Glasgow green with some of the biggest and hottest acts in the music industry. TRNSMT is the new child of DF concerts, the people behind the iconic ‘T in the Park’ which is taking a break for 2017. TRNSMT will run from the 7th-9th of July and has no shortage of acts to keep us punters in full swing for the weekend and tick us over until our next festival hit. Being in its first year, it is without a doubt that DF concerts have delivered in full force with Radiohead, Kasabian and Scottish legends Biffy Clyro blessing the main stage with their presence for a headline set. Amongst these legends across the weekend the main-stage will also play home to Catfish and the Bottlemen, The 1975, Rag N Bone Man, The Kooks and Mossely’s finest apocalyptic sprautrockers, Cabbage.
This is one weekend that should not be missed. If this isn’t enough (and to all you sat cross kneed, apologies for selling it even more to you) the legend that is Mikey Jonns of This feeling will be bringing some of the hottest and upcoming bands on the scene at the minute, showcasing them all on the Jacks Rocks stage. Over the weekend you can see The Blinders bring there energetic punk set to the sunny fields of Glasgow Green, which for sure is one that shouldn’t be missed. Others not to be missed include the prolific Bang Bang Romeo, the promising Brighton 5 piece White Room, Brummy rockers Broken Witt Rebels, the outstanding Trampolene and adrenaline fuelled Blackwaters will also grace the Jack Rocks/ This Feeling stage. All full of boundless energy and unique potential, which we cant emphasise enough that you check them out.
If you want to be part of one of the best weekends the festival calendar has to offer this year, tickets can be purchased below. Only time can tell if the festival will be a major part in the festival calendar or if T in the Park will return again next year but one thing is for sure with an exceptional line up, the punters will be ecstatic this year.
