Bonded through friendship and love for guitar music, the band from the seaside features dual vocalists Freddie Schmuck and Adam Lodge, along with Sam Dowling and Perrie Bunton.

Now firmly established as the guitar music torchbearers for North Yorkshire, the four-piece dubbed ‘the musical pride of Scarborough’ by Soccer AM’s Fenners have reached heights that were seemingly impossible to achieve during their infancy but are set to be topped with a “dream come true” show supporting their teenage heroes The Kooks at Bridlington Spa 2nd Sept 2022.

“I met Adam and Sam before starting the band back in 2016 we were attending The Last Shadow Puppets gig at Brid Spa. I already knew Sam through friends and we’d discussed potentially starting a band. I suppose you could say that’s where it all began, at Bridlington Spa, so it feels like this Kooks gig will be some mad full circle sort of feeling. We’ve all grown up with The Kooks’ music, their first album is huge for us as a band in terms of inspiration and ambition. It’s surreal, we’re really looking forward to it, it’s a dream come true.”

The news coincides with new single ‘All Worked Out‘ out now, the first track from an EP due this summer. After garnering support from local BBC Introducing DJ, Jericho Keys, Phil Taggart and new music exemplar Huw Stephens handed ‘What Are You Dreaming?’ plays on BBC R1, whilst John Kennedy and Felix White gave the track back-to-back spins on Radio X where it was play-listed and remained for 3 weeks. With a Tv sync secured through Channel 4’s Made in Chelsea, the band supported Dublin’s Inhaler and embarked on their debut headline tour with a live performance on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM sandwiched in between.

2021, despite a pandemic, saw big steps forward. Their single ‘Sunset’ peaked at No.1 on the iTunes Chart and was played by 6Music’s Steve Lamacq and Radio X’s John Kennedy. The summer saw them land a support slot indie legends James, where they performed in front of a 8,000 strong hometown crowd at Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre before going onto sell out the Scarborough Spa Ocean Room, performing on the This Feeling stage at the Isle of Wight Festival and supporting The Lathums on tour.

In March 2022, after the band’s debut live EP sold out on Blood Records, they joined The Clause on their UK tour. Watch this space for more big announcements soon.
