With just over two weeks to go until TRNSMT Festival brings another unforgettable weekend of live music to Glasgow Green, the festival is giving fans another exciting glimpse of what to expect from 12th – 14th July, releasing the site map, plus highly anticipated set times for acts like Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra, Gerry Cinnamon, Lewis Capaldi and more.
Following yesterday’s announcement that sadly Snow Patrol are unable to perform at this year’s TRNSMT Festival due to medical reasons, the festival announced that Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi now joins the bill for Sunday 14th July. TRNSMT Festival organisers have revealed today that day tickets for Sunday 14th July are now SOLD OUT. Fans still have the chance to see acts like George Ezra, Lewis Capaldi, Jess Glynne, The Kooks, Circa Waves and more by purchasing 2 or 3-day tickets from www.TRNSMTfest.com.
Fans can now start planning their TRNSMT weekend well in advance by downloading the official TRNSMT app, ‘favourite’ the acts they want to see and receive push notifications 10 minutes before they come on stage so they never miss a moment. TRNSMT 2019 boasts another star-studded line-up of Main Stage heavyweights, international names and exciting breakthrough artists who are all ready to leave their mark on the festival’s storied history. With the exciting addition of the Queen Tut’s Stage, the return of PLATFORM ON TOUR, the Utilita Power Tree and the Smirnoff Bar, organisers have ensured that TRNSMT fans will have the ultimate festival experience this year.
So ahead of its return, here’s ten things to do at Scotland’s biggest festival to ensure you make the most of your weekend.
1. SING ALONG TO YOUR FAVOURITE TUNES AT THE MAIN STAGE
There’s no better feeling than singing along to your favourite song with your pals. Glasgow is known to have the best crowds in the world and TRNSMT has certainly lived up to that reputation over the past few years with its incredible atmosphere. The 2019 edition boasts perhaps one of the most eclectic line-ups in the festival’s history with performances from Stormzy, Catfish & the Bottlemen, George Ezra, Gerry Cinnamon and Lewis Capaldi alongside stand out names like Jess Glynne, Sigrid, Richard Ashcroft, Bastille and more. It’s fair to say that between them, TRNSMT’s 2019 line-up will conjure up countless singalong moments and festival anthems.
2. TAKE THE ULTIMATE TRNSMT SELFIE
The atmosphere will be buzzing as thousands of festival-goers mill under the famous McLennan Arch and descend on Glasgow Green for the first time. And there’s no better way to start the weekend than with the perfect Instagram photo at the huge TRNSMT TV in the middle of the site.
3. GET A VIP UPGRADE AND TRNSMT YOURSELF TO CELEB STATUS FOR THE WEEKEND
Treat yourself to a special VIP upgrade and enjoy the ultimate TRNSMT experience. Enjoy a glass of bubbly on arrival each day, the convenience of your very own VIP entrance, have a dance at the exclusive VIP bar or grab some VIP food and chill out in-between sets. All ticket buyers need to do is contact their point of purchase to arrange an upgrade.
4. DISCOVER THE HEADLINERS OF THE FUTURE OVER AT THE QUEEN TUT’S STAGE
The Queen Tut’s Stage is new to TRNSMT this year and is a fantastic opportunity to check out some of the best emerging talents the country has to offer. A brilliant snapshot of Scotland’s flourishing and incredibly diverse music scene, check out the likes of Lauren Spiteri, Zoe Graham, Cara Rose, Scarlett Randle, CRYSTAL, Sahara, Tamzene, Chlobocop and more.
5. SIP A COCKTAIL AND SHOW OFF YOUR BEST DANCE MOVES AT THE SMIRNOFF BAR
The Smirnoff Bar will feature an incredible line-up of international and local DJs. For fans of house and trance, this will be the place to dance the day away with big names like Eclair Fifi, Rebecca Vasmant and PEACH resident DJ K4cie all behind the decks. Be sure to try the new Smirnoff Infusion drinks which come in two refreshing flavours just in time for the festival season in the sun – Orange, Grapefruit & Bitters or Raspberry, Rhubarb & Vanilla.
6. POWER UP AND MAKE A GIF AT THE UTILITA TREE
This year the Utilita Power Tree will live in its own area, surrounded by the park’s leafy woodland which will offer free phone charging all day and night. While charging your phone, grab a drink and enjoy the fantastic DJ line-up that will include 90s rave tunes from Aisha, local hero Sean Claude, the brilliant Nightwave and Cal Griffin.
7. DID SOMEONE SAY MCNUGGETS?
Following the success of having McFlurry’s onsite at TRNSMT in 2018, this year, the fast-food chain will be back onsite with everyone’s favourite – Chicken McNuggets! Who doesn’t love McDonald’s?
8. CHECK OUT THE KING TUT’S STAGE POWERED BY UTILITA ENERGY
Over the past few years, the award-winning festival may have gained a reputation for its big-name acts and incredible atmosphere, but it has also established itself as an incredible platform for up-and-coming talent. Jumping from the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Stage to the Main Stage, some of its biggest success stories include the likes of The Snuts, Sigrid, Tom Grennan, The Amazons, Sam Fender and Gerry Cinnamon – all of whom are now major names at 2019’s festival. A certified breeding ground for breakthrough talent, this year’s crop of King Tut’s artists include some of the nation’s most talked-about new artists like Fontaines DC, The Dunts, Catherine McGrath, whenyoung and more.
9. TRY SOME OF THE BEST STREET FOOD SCOTLAND HAS TO OFFER AT PLATFORM ON TOUR
