Roosevelt Room are made up of four best mates from Blackburn.
Following three successful releases with their debut single ‘Must Be A Reason’ been voted 8/10 by Unsigned & Independent magazine & ‘Loose Lips’ being voted single of the week by Manc Review, the Blackburn foursome are about to release their first self titled EP. Looking at spring release it contains 4 solid tracks and is set to be their greatest work yet. Each song is catchy, rhythmic, and unique which expresses the bands versatility.
Their influences stem from a cocktail of life in a dilapidated town, honesty and finding happiness then having to move on. The lads don’t consider themselves to have a specific genre and “Want to keep things as fresh and diverse as possible”
‘Under the thunder‘ tells of the craving for that one persons attention for them to have you ‘Walking the high wire’ whilst you drown in anticipation.
‘Theses Things (Are never changing)‘ is the ecstasy of finding your soulmate, your best friend and the feeling of completion from one who elates you in true love.
‘Pulled By the Moon’ (which is my personal favourite) reflects the souring of the relationship by a negative emotion such as jealousy and how being imprisoned by relentless accusations and interrogation pushes you away from the person you love most.
‘Golden‘ concludes the EP with the story of finally moving on after the struggle to let go of the whole going around in circles theory and giving everything you can to someone and getting nowhere so giving up on them to have something ‘Golden‘
Roosevelt Room has created a winning EP here, filled with well-crafted lyrical content, enticing chords, it reinvigorates some of indie music’s most widely-abused tropes.
The band have recently played at the famous O2 Ritz in Manchester and the Club Academy and securing support slots with Johnny Brown (Twisted Wheel), Joe Carnell Jnr (Milburn/Reverend & the makers) Cabbage, 7shades and The Crooks.
Roosevelt room are currently gigging and have live shows near you during February/March and have an announcement for a big gig on Easter Sunday in Oldham.
