Latest single ‘Baby’ from London based quartet Paves is, as Radio X put it, the perfect ‘summer anthem’ and the quintessential rock and roll tune, so to speak. Paves have had one hell of a Summer, going from festival to festival and gig to gig, but this is only the beginning for them.
Having gained fans in their hometown by supporting all of the bands they see on a weekly basis at This Feeling gigs, it’s time for Paves to bask in the glory they so rightly deserve and embark on a career that has been ‘paved’ by the indie gods. With long hair, good style and ostentatious hats alike, Paves are a band that know what fans of rock and roll want, and they’re certainly gonna get it.
Their songs have a Stones-esque swagger, with searing vocals and guitar riffs sharp enough to make the deepest of cuts, and ‘Baby’ is no exception with a chorus that echoed through the tents of Isle of Wight Festival, YNot, Reading (to name but a few) and more recently the penultimate night of the This Feeling: Alive Tour, where they played to a packed out Electric Ballroom in Camden. The lyrics “This time is the last time, before I make you go for good” give off a classic indie vibe that you’ll never tire of, and it’s one that will be repeated back from crowds of main stages at festivals in years to come, mark my words.
Paves ‘Baby/Beat The Gun’ was released last month digitally, but this Thursday (17th November) it gets released on This Feeling Records on a 7” vinyl. Camden’s famous venue ‘The Monarch’ plays host to the single launch and with support from locals Calva Louise and The Velvet Hands, it’s certainly not a night to be missed. It’s also the beginning of an all-important tour for Paves, so we will be seeing you down the front of at least two of their dates. Paves are certainly ones to watch.
