We’ve been told for years guitar music’s dead.
Where’s the next big band gonna come from?
They’re here, right here, right now…..
This October brace yourselves for the Alive tour. This Feeling have pulled together an enticing mix of huge names from the bubbling underground music scene, Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band and Blackwaters that will hit twelve cities across the UK: Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, York, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Hull, Nottingham, Sheffield, London & Brighton.
Representing all the best new guitar bands, the Alive tour is This Feeling‘s biggest national tour in its eleven year history. This Feeling (a well known haunt for well known faces like the Gallagher brothers, Kasabian and The Libertines) have relentlessly over the years grown a massive underground scene which is all coming to a glorious head with the #Alive tour.
“We are living in a world where guitar music has been marginalised so what This Feeling is doing at the moment is vital. This Feeling is the best club in The UK for future Rock and Roll stars. They believe in the power of guitar music and when Rock and Roll makes it’s glorious comeback you can bet your arse you will have heard it first at This Feeling.”
The bands on the Alive tour have all played This Feeling club nights and festival stages where they have sent crowds into a frenzy and are all part of an ever-growing movement where bands work together and support each other, helping recreate a scene where rock & roll was once a voice of unity and liberty. As Serge Pizzorno put it …
‘Like a mad 60’s carnival- its our favourite London night out.’
The tour will represent the very best in British indie guitar music in 2017 and it’s This Feeling‘s biggest national tour in its eleven year history – the tour marks the moment that years of building an underground scene comes to fruition and national domination begins. This is the start of a resurgence in uncompromising guitar music.
BANG BANG ROMEO
One of the most exciting bands to come out of the UK, Bang Bang Romeo have had a killer 2017 festival season. The band have also recently signed with Solo Music Agency joining the likes of Beyonce and many more A list names. Front-woman Anastasia has the sublime powerhouse of a voice that will blow you away (think Quentin Tarantino/James Bond soundtracks) Their music is timeless yet modern and are causing a stir wherever they play. Their new single, Chemical ,will float around your head for days.
We asked the feisty & fabulous Anastasia how it feels to be one of the headliners for the biggest This Feeling tour of the year?
‘This tour is a pure injection into the up and coming music scene. To be a part of it is not only an honour, but it’s a gauntlet being thrown down to the music world saying, “We’re doing our bit for new music, are you gonna do something to fucking top this or what?!” In a world where the big powers in music aren’t developing acts anymore, it’s more important than ever to make your own scene, to support music and set your own precedent. What This Feeling and Live Nation are doing together with this tour – we can all be eternally thankful for. All that’s left to do now is put on a show. What we’re most looking forward to is playing in venues we’ve never played before to crowds that have never heard us, in cities we’ve never visited. And to do all this alongside The Shimmer Band, Black Waters and supports showing a huge wealth of talent in the form of Paves, Liberty Ship, Mint and Sheafs to name but a few, how can this not be explosive? Let’s have it!’
THE SHIMMER BAND
The Shimmer Band have only released three singles so far (Freedom, Sunkick, Jacknife and the Death Call) but they’ve gained a huge following in so little time doing serious damage at this summer’s festivals. The band make soaring euphoric electronica-infused indie with nods to late ’90s Verve, U2, Doves and Kasabian. Arenas await these lot but academies will get their roof well and truly blown off come October.
‘It’s us against prime time and all that shit…’
Formed at University in Guildford three years ago, indie rockers Blackwaters make clever, raw indie punk and are a perfect outfit to sit beside bands like The Libertines. The band currently only have a handful of singles online and with their Dead Kennedys-esque energy and Essex-raised singer Maximillion Tanner’s Jamie T-esque ear for pop hooks, the band are all set to explode.
‘We’re thrilled to be going out with these up and coming bands. The tour has such a variety of new music, there’s something for everybody to enjoy. Also really nice to be part of this scene with This Feeling. It’s gonna knock ur fuckin socks off mate. See u there. Big up to Mikey Jonns and This Feeling’
