Over the past few days myself and Trust A Fox photography have had the pleasure of covering Bang Bang Romeo’s new music video for their latest single ‘???’. Set in two locations, Sitcom Studios in Bolton and The Old Weighing Rooms in the bands hometown of Doncaster, this track is unbelievable and quite possibly their best yet. It’s such a powerful song with an equally justified visual. The entire video perfectly matches the excitement of one of Bang Bang Romeo’s live performances. The lighting was dynamic, surging and pulsing with key beats in the audio, the bands outfits from the top stylists were elegant, sleek and Anastasia looked jaw dropping beautiful. The band played full of attitude, energy and charisma, it was honestly surreal. What also made the two days so enjoyable apart from the track, was the team around it. There was a definite sense of comradery on set and quite frankly, if you asked any of the team, I am sure they would say the same. Watching the shoot was something very special and something that without a doubt is going to catapult this band into the global limelight.
As the theme and name of the single is under wraps… I’m sorry to say but I can’t tell you much else, apart from things are about to go very crazy once this drops.
One thing that was very clear over the past few days was that Bang Bang Romeo never disappoint —they are one of a few bands that continually remind us that guitar music isn’t dead. The whole band excel at bringing energy and excitement to soulful rock music, consistently infusing the genre with new looks, sounds and meanings. The trio are formed of Anastasia Walker, Ross Cameron and Richard Gartland, who have worked relentlessly hard since their formation. The results of all their hard efforts resulted in a life changing trip to America back in May where they worked with a host of Billboard #1 producers and put the finishing touches to their hugely anticipated debut album. Whilst there, the band announced via Facebook live that they had signed to a worldwide record deal with New York based label Eleven Seven, one of the most innovative and successful labels in the music business today.
Eleven Seven is one of the world’s leading independent music companies and holds offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, and Berlin. The company is the global home for artists including Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach, Nothing More, Escape The Fate, Sixx:A.M., and HELLYEAH as well as Five Finger Death Punch outside of the U.S.
Bang Bang Romeo are without a doubt one of the most down-to-earth and self-aware bands in the UK. They’re certainly one of the most consistent and have successfully gained a strong momentum over the past few years because these guys know exactly what they’re doing and how best to do it. Everytime I meet with the band they’ve been brilliant company: extremely funny, engaging, incredibly sharp and unfailingly honest. As we relaxed in-between takes Anastasia told me…
“This is it for me, there is absolutely nothing else in this world I can ever see myself doing. I live and breathe all of this, its in my heart and in my soul – plus I’m also shit at Math’s and Science so I’ve got no choice really!”
In a male dominated industry Anastasia has the potential to be one of the most empowering and iconic women in the music business. With her striking looks and theatrical stage presence, her dry sense of humor is brilliant and her laugh, infectious. On set, as the stylist adjusted her top Anastasia had the crowd in stitches as she said..
“Is this too much tit everyone? My dad’s going to watch this you know!”
They recently also announced a run of impressive festival dates including a main stage slot at this years Isle Of Wight Festival which is the 50th anniversary of the prolific event.
“In all my years of doing this, I have never seen a more charismatic or powerful vocalist than Stars from Bang Bang Romeo. They are destined to become a global sensation”
John Giddings, Isle of Wight Festival / Solo Music Agency
They also last night announced a headline slot at YNOT Festival with their longtime supporters This Feeling. Mikey Jonn’s said…
“Bang Bang Romeo are one of the most unique, utterly spell binding new bands around. Think Queen fronted by Adele. Yep, they’re gonna be fucking massive”
Mikey Jonns, This Feeling
