Northern Exposure Compilation Album
Northern Exposure is excited to announce that we are releasing a compilation album with our good friends at Well Suspect due to be released at the end of April. Established in 1984 by Eddie Piller (Acid Jazz Records) Well Suspect has been relaunched in 2016 by Richard Searle (Doctor and the Medics and Corduroy) releasing music inspired by dirty mod, garage rock and contemporary psychedelica. We have worked with Richard on many projects including Dirty Mod, Generation Mod and cannot wait to bring the influences of Well Suspect and Northern Exposure together. You can check out Well Suspect here at the Well Suspect Records Website.
Myself (Rachel Brown), Ash Trainer, Tyler Gibb and Carl Wood have got just under two weeks to get 20 bands together. It has been a year long dream of mine to put out an album full of some of my favorite up and coming bands in the UK and this month sees the plan finally come into fruition.
We are also very proud to also announce that Brain Cannon from Microdot is doing the artwork. Brian is a British graphic designer, art director, photographer, band manager and music video director. He is best known for his Microdot graphic design company and its work in the 1990s, which created the album cover for Oasis’ record breaking debut album, Definitely Maybe, in 1994. Two of his record sleeve designs—Definitely Maybe (#14) and “This Is Music” (#79)—featured in Q magazine’s “The Hundred Best Record Covers Of All Time” list published in 2001. He has produced a number of record sleeves for UK number one albums, including Urban Hymns (The Verve) and 1977 (Ash), along with two further Oasis albums—(What’s The Story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now. Check out his work and purchase some of the iconic prints at the Microdot Website
One of our core values at Northern Exposure is to do all we can to help musicians in the best way we can, hence why a percentage of proceeds made will go to Help Musicians UK. Established in 1921, they have helped thousands of musicians in many areas. They provide advice and guidance, help with mental health issues and give financial and emotional support to thousands of musicians. You can follow and read more about the amazing work the charity does below.
Please contact Rachel at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be considered to
feature on the album.
