From the backstreets of a small town in Merseyside, Messiahs are much more than your average indie band. Their ever-growing fan base has fallen for their modern take on 90’s flavoured swagger with huge choruses to match. Made up of Salty, Jamie Cook, Tranners and Liam Andrews I caught up with them to introduce them to you, our readers.

Please introduce yourselves to our readers, who you are, what you play and how you formed?
We’re Messiahs, 3 lads with some instruments, playing the type of music that we love, purely for the love of it. Based in St Helens, we met when John Lennon visited us separately in our dreams and asked us to meet up.
What style of music would you describe yourself as and what influences do you draw upon?
I’ll tell what we’re not. Were not Rock, Metal, Rap or Pop. And we’re not Space Jazz. We try our best not to draw too much from anything, coz you end up sounding like that band or artist then. The songs just fall out of the sky if you listen hard enough. Its true. As long as the song has passion, or swagger or soul well keep it. If its shit we bin it and move on.
What are you currently up to at the moment music-wise?
Writing, recording, gigging, tryna pop our head above the radar and most importantly….enjoying it man.
And outside of music, how’s life in general?
Shit, Liverpool are top of the league.
What’s the happiest lyric you’ve ever written?
Erm….ya lyrics can’t be too happy can they.
 And the saddest…?
“I’ll paint you a picture, with the tears from my eyes”  is from a song of our called ‘Higher Love’. Check it out.
Would you rather live in a Yellow Submarine or an Octopus’s Garden and why?
A yellow submarine, we ain’t getting our trainers wet man.
What’s the best venue you’ve played so far and what’s would be your dream venue?
We played St Helen’s rugby ground to 18,000 once. (Where we did get wet trainers) That was okay. I’d say the most enjoyable gigs are the little sweaty ones with good sound. Any in Manchester or Liverpool are good, coz its good night out innit…..Dream venue though….its gotta be Glasto, hasn’t it???
If you could support any band, past or present who would it be and why?
I think we as a band would all answer this differently. I’d probably say Oasis in 95/96 just for the massive after party.
Make me laugh, what’s your best joke?
Ahhh, man. I can’t do jokes. I’ll tell ya whats funny though… Scottish people swearing are fukin hilarious. They just swear with pure passion man. Let me think… Don’t trust atoms… They make everything up… See can’t do jokes.
What’s the best thing about being in a band/solo artist?
All of it. There’s nothing better than being in a band.
 And the hardest…?
Sum your band/act up in three words?
 Melodic. Swaggering. Anthems.
What tune should readers listen to right now that sums you up the best?
 Love & Money.

Liam or Noel? Liam.
Boris or Jezza? Neither.
Pineapple on pizza? – yes or not? Everyday.

Beatles or Stones? Beatles.
