INVITE YOU TO…..
Give yourself to glorious freedom, at a ‘Party at the End of the World’.
The 116 welcome all waifs, strays, fiends and fiendettes, to this outpouring of pure joy in the face of death.
Headliners Avalanche Party will take to the stage for their first Teesside gig of 2018 after selling out venues all round the country this year. In June the band play the Bavarian Raut Oak Festival, Berlin, Bremen, Isle Of Wight Festival, Liverpool Calling and then here.
They will be joined by some of the finest artists in the UK. From Glasgow, Dale Barclay & Laura St Jude will perform a selection of songs from Laura’s recent solo album, along with Amazing Snakeheads songs, And Yet It Moves songs & James Brown songs. This will be special.
We are honoured that the fantastic Barry Hyde from The Futureheads will be playing our stage, pulling from his vast catalogue of great material. A sublime musician and performer.
NONOIA DJ’S will bring the Bubblegum Hardcore classics straight from Berlin. We have resurrected Elvis from the dead for one last shake of the leg.
From the hedonistic pleasure land of Farndale we bring Amy Ellis, travelling all the way from the peaceful Daffodil valley of Blackpool we bring Strange Bones, and we bring the sensational Shrug from just down the road.
WHO IS THE 116 AND JAQUES LUTHER?
We are a rebel faction designed to counter the crippling mundanity of the world. Jacques Luther began us. Jacques Luther does not exist. We have no leader. We are a meeting of minds and together we have grown strong with influence far and wide. It seems fitting to mark our great achievements with one last party, and we have handpicked the artists we believe will suitably soundtrack your final hours.
Much to the indifference of host Tony Clifton we have many great artists playing our cabaret suite, including Washing Machine Repair Man, Pellet & Head, Charlie Swainston and Yoshika. Bernie Slaven will provide a rocking Smiths DJ set.
Glasgow stallions Rascalton & Hull herculeans Fire (The Unstoppable Force) return to Stockton after packed and rapturous Stockton Calling sets.
A trio of great York bands will journey up the A19 – Snakerattlers, Triangle Triangle Triangle & The Black Lagoons and a partridge in a pear tree.
All kicked off by Infant Bercules and their Makina Folk choir.
Cocktail menu by Oor Wullie, catering by Desperate Dan. Please do not feed the horse, they’ve had enough.
