Brighton based trio Demob Happy released their thunderous sophomore album “Holy Doom” earlier on in the year, setting in stone their hellish return. This week they released an unplugged version of Holy Doom in all its anxiety soaked glory. Ditching its psych laden sound for a timid guitar may sound like it will leave the track lacking substance, but it’s quite the opposite, the slow almost naïve lyrics could be straight out of a horror movie as high pitch whirs overlay the staggered jazz sax that dips in and out of the track. Soaked in drama it creates quite the story to be told and shows another side to this Stygian band.
