The northwest band who formed in college in 2013 originated as ‘Broken Strings’ later changing their name to The Atmospherics. Previously performing cover tracks they’re presently securing support slots, have released an ep album and been live on air with the BBC radio back in October to promote their new single. It’s agreeable to say from hearing their indie rock influentic tones you’ll be impressed with this band. At the ripe young age of 20 & 21 they play with the confidence & structure of a band with light years more experience. They’re professional and well rehearsed David Mangnalls vocals are considered flawless. The band respond rhythmatically & effortlessly and they’ve been credited by Tom Hingley of the Inspiral Carpets & Andy Watts of The Seahorses.
Their most recent single “Chances” (released late October 2016) is instantly infectious & full of lively dynamics. It really shows how the band have positively, progressed musically. Its a track with catchy, impressive lyrics and full of so much young energy & enthusiasm. Written about what the breakdown of what I see as a first serious relationship, this isn’t just catchy indie pop music, this is good meaningful stuff especially for the teenage ear.
These boys haven’t come to mess around and quote “We are hatching some new bigger things for 2017 and can’t wait to get started & share them with you”
Well one thing is for certain, we can’t wait boys.
