Formed on 2014 from members of 3 popular local indie bands, Frank have moved forward with their catchy hooks
and infectious melodies.
Now signed to Sound-Hub records the band have honed their sound and are ready to deliver it to the masses…
Tell me a bit about your band? Who are your major influences?
We are an original indie rock and roll band called Frank. We are influenced by many but copy none. Our main influences are, Oasis, The Stone Roses and Stereophonics.
How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?
We met on the local music scene in separate bands. Craig, Alex and Gaz were in a band together until they split up. We decided to start a new band and Frank was born.
Where have you performed? What are your favourite venues?
We’ve played many local venues, the biggest being Derby arena where we supported Happy Monday’s, Cast and The Bluetones.
Who writes your songs? And what are the main themes or topics for most of your songs?
Andy, Gaz and Craig are the main song writers but Tom and Alex are heavily involved in the writing process. The topics of our songs are always based around our own experience of life, the people we meet, the places we’ve been and the things we’ve done. Every song is from the heart and real.
What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
The biggest challenge was losing our original lead guitarist John. It just so happened that Alex returned from travelling at the same time so he came in on bass and Andy took over lead guitar duties and the final lineup was cemented.
What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Don’t listen to negative people, write your own songs and above all, enjoy yourself.
What does 2017 hold for you? What can we look forward to from you?
Derby 2Q festival along with plenty more gigs. Also our album will be out in the summer.
